Questions, questions, questions!

Updated: Jun 20, 2023

This cartoon received quite the response from our Bright and Beyond Facebook page followers when it was recently shared.

I wondered if that response was because these parents related to the constant stream of chatter reflecting the unique, complex and creative thinking and questioning of their gifted children as they try to make sense of the world.

Maybe it was the adult empathetic response to a gifted child being ejected from an age peer group due to the lack of like-minds.

I also wondered if it was the response of adults who were exhausted by the child's incessant bombardment of questions about life, the universe and everything. Sometimes enough is enough, right?

Perhaps it was because adults felt a sense of relief in knowing others share a common experience. Parents of gifted students can often feel alone and unprepared on this unique journey. It is the camaraderie that parents find when they join us in our "It Takes a Village" evening group that helps relieve some of that sense of aloneness. If you would like to know more, please send a message to connect@brightandbeyond.com.au and I will be happy to provide some more information.
